CORDILLERA SUITE
- ADIVAY

festival dance praising the god Kabunian for the wonders of creation
exorting the young to protect the land and the people, and giving a
message of love to a loved one.
- BANGA
Igorot maidens go to the
river and prepare for a marriage ceremony. They display not only
their grace and agility, but also their stamina and strength as they
go about their daily task of fetching water and balancing the banga,
clay pots full of water, on their heads.
- GANGSA
Gangsa is the most notable
brass "gong" common throughout the whole region of the Cordillera.
The dance signifies social harmony and prestige to its people.
- PAKONG
Pakong from Pak'gong is a
bamboo organ with a slit in the middle carried by the maidens as
they work on their farms. It is used to drive away the snake along
the way. The dance also depicts Igorot maidens harvesting rice in
terraces of Banaue.
